Her former students in New York City played in the NY Youth Symphony. Ms. Schwartz is a certified Suzuki teacher having received her training from a two-year course at the School for Strings in New York City.

“Our daughter has studied with Sarah for many years. Sarah has always found the right balance between pushing and patience, and setting up a love of music balanced with excellent technique at each stage. We love working with Sarah.”

— Parent of a 10-year old student

“Sarah Schwartz is an amazing violin teacher for children of all ages.  She has a solid background in Suzuki instruction and uses various methods to constantly advance kids’ skills. Our two children have been under her tutelage since they were both 5 years old—one for 6+ years and the other for over two. Since they are at separate levels and have different musical aspirations, Sarah has developed individual approaches to meet their personal goals whether it is preparing for competitions/auditions or helping to advance through the Suzuki books.  Sarah pays excellent attention to technical details assuring her students have a solid foundation for playing the violin.  Most importantly, she teaches in such a gentle way that kids enjoy the drills.

On a personal note, Sarah has a great relationship with kids of all ages, knowing when to push and when to loosen up. Being a mother herself, she understand the moods and the age-related physical limitations of youngsters which is so important for kids to want to learn an instrument as challenging as violin. Also, she is a phenomenal violin player herself! ”

— Parent of 7- and 11-year old students
